Industrial Relations

Industrial Relations issues can be complex and risky.  As an employer, you have a range of obligations and risks that can hinder your workforces effectiveness.

You also have opportunities to improve productivity, loyality and employee satisfaction.  The bottom line is often affected by your ability to manage the issues in a timely and effective manner.

Award Interpretation
  • How many Awards cover your workplace?
  • Which ones are they?
  • What is the accrual rate for Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Long Service Leave?
If you do not have the answers to these questions, then you need to talk to ACSEA.  The Staff at ACSEA are just a phone call away.  We provide expert advice on any area of the Award that is relevant to your business.

Unfair Dismissals, Terminations and Redundancies

The most common claim employers have made against them is for Unfair Dismissal.  ACSEA is able to provide competent representation at all levels and will guide you through the process in a timely and professional manner.

We will also guide you through the termination or redundancy process.  Termination is a serious step to take in the employment relationship and is fraught with danger if not done correctly.  We can provide you with practical solutions and outine the risks and problems that can be avoided, and also ensuring you make the correct decisions.  We can also draft the correct paperwork during the process.

When organisations are involved in industrial disputes, they can incur huge costs.  ACSEA provides its members with advice and support to reduce this liability, providing we have been consulted FIRST. i.e. before you take any action......otherwise it can be expensive.

You may say this won't happen to you and hopefully it won't but it is important that you are well informed and know your rights and responsibilties as an employer, ALWAYS CALL US FIRST BEFORE TAKING ANY ACTION.

*Free Industrial Representation for any member who sought our advice in the first instance, and has followed our advice and the correct procedures, in any one year's membership period.

If we are acting in the Industrial Commission on your behalf after the event, or against our advice, then costs will be incurred by you.  This is extremely important - ensuring that the best interests of the Organisation are met as per your Legal requirements.

If there is a need for ACSEA Management to travel intrastate and interstate for a hearing, travelling and accommodation costs will need to be negotiated.
