The Australian Community Services Employers Association is an employers association, representing the industrial interests of employers within the Community, not for profit sector within Australia. We have been operating for 37 years.
Since then ACSEA has become Australia's leading Community and Not For Profit Organisations employers association, with member who operate businesses as diverse as; Disability Groups, Respite Care, Child Care, Kindergartens, P&C's, P&F's and other similar community organisation across Australia.
ACSEA is registered with both Fair Work Australia and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and as a Union of Employers.
What Are Our Aims
- To represent the Industrial Relations interests of our members;
- To arrange for conciliation and arbitration between parties in dispute who wish to avoid expensive ongoing litigation;
- To advise in disputes so as to avoid stress, strikes and settle disputes equitably;
- To offer cost effective, practical, and down to earth advice and assistance on the wide range of issues faced by Boards, Committees, Managers and Owners on a day-to-day basis.
Industrial Relations
- To negotiate with trade unions on Awards, Enterprise Agreements and or/arrange appearances before Fair Work Australia, and Commissions (State & Federal);
- To act on behalf of members in disputes with employees and/or Unions;
- Cost effective award service including the provision of copies of the award, advice on award interpretations, and wages updates or award variations arising from Fair Work Australia and Commission decisions;
- Ensure members effect "Due Process" when dealing with staff;
- ACSEA arranges for professional industrial advice/representation for its members and meets the cost of such services up to $1500 per annum*.
Human Resources
- Offering assistance with Policy development in areas as diverse as; Fitness for Work, Workplace and Sexual Harassment, staff inductions etc;
- To advise members on aspects of advertising, recruitment and merit based selection;
- Advice on areas of Anti Discrimination and Sexual Harassment;
- Advice on areas of Parental/Family Leave;
- Advise members in complex areas of Minimum engagement (Probationary) Performance Reviews, Counselling and Disciplinary processes.
Occupational Health and Safety
- Provide advice and interpretation various State Acts and legislation;
- Assist in the development of both Policies and Procedures;
- Advise members about obligations under various States Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Legislation;
- Occupational Health and Safety Audits at completive rates.
Bookkeeping, Payroll/ Auditing
- Assist in solving the day to day issues with both payroll and bookkeeping matters
- Providing practical and cost effective solutions to volunteer treasurers
- Taking the pain away from keeping up to date with Accounting changes and rules
- Saving organisation from the added expense of additional staff to perform many of these functions.
